Who I am…
—
I grew up in the natural splendor of the Santa Cruz mountains on the San Francisco Peninsula before moving to Maine. My close relationship with nature helped me to discover my love of art. Through creative exploration, camping, books, and the circus, I fell in love with the art of storytelling. Today I keep my inner child alive through physical theater, millinery, and teaching. I am frequently inspired by the people I am around and the nature I inhabit.
I believe in the power of performance to change and inform perspectives. I am interested in how physical performance responds and interacts with society and the environment. I believe the non-verbal component of physical performance allows for a deeper understanding of a space and the story being told. Because of this, I am particularly interested in how different forms of art and storytelling can be used to combat social and environmental injustice.
I graduated with a BFA in Theater Arts Design and Production from Boston University with the Class of 2021. Through my major, I was able to explore a wide variety of theater and performance disciplines, including but not limited to movement, directing, and millinery. This exploration allowed me to expand my understanding of art and to see storytelling in its full compositional capacity. Outside of Boston University, I have received training from the Academia dell’Arte in Arezzo, Italy, and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. I have worked for the Portola Valley Theater Conservatory for the past eight years in various positions, including choreography, production management, dramaturgy, and as a teaching artist.
